UltraViolet

Sunday, April 30th, 2006

The only nice thing bout this movie is, of course, none other than Milla Jovovich. She is freaking hot!! Loves her alot!
But that’s all. Unless you are a great fan of Milla, or else DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME in the cinema. It’s not worth it.

The story was weak, CGI were really fake, whole movie was blur, every single frame was over-saturated, everything was glowing, the colors were out, as if you’re watching a pirated vcd. It seems to me that the production team lost control on the whole thing, wasted all the special effects, Matrix kinda stunts and Milla. Aeon flux was boring too, but the special effects and CGI were good.

UltraViolet was just dissapointing, I can’t even see Milla’s face clear! It was really a mess. How could they produce crap like this?! Definitely one of the worst comic movie I’ve watched. Don’t waste your time and money.

Dawn of The Dead

Thursday, October 13th, 2005

An old movie, came out some time last year, was never shown in Malaysia.

But, if you love to watch walking zombies, this is a must watch show!!

“When there’s no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth..”

Sounds cool? It surely does.
I’ve watched this on VCD 2 times last year when I didn’t have a DVD player. Few weeks ago, grab some DVDs in Low Yatt including this, and I just watched it for the 3rd time with my brother.

I’m telling you, you don’t want to miss this.
The walking zombies are pretty scarry, they run like olympic athletes! I mean come on, how often do you see zombies run like that? Gun shots in the head are so real, you get to see fleshes and brains burst out, flying around… I assure you, the scenes are violent enough to satisfy your thirst for blood!

Alright, let’s brief you on what the movie is about…

As the United States is turned upside-down by a strange plague-like event in which milions of corpses walk the earth as blood-thirsty zombies (with the recently-deceased that the zombies kill usually returning as zombies themeselves, multiplying their number), a small group of survivors of the onslaught, which include a nurse and a police officer, try to find shelter and protection within a massive shopping mall in the mid-sized city of Everett, WA. What they don’t reckon on is that the zombies still have some sort of special memory, and *everyone* loves goin to the mall, right? Realizing that their time is running out…

Oh well, the rest you gotta watch it to find out yourself! =p
(Got this synopsis from the DVD cover of course.. hehe..)

To get the best quality of the movie, please purchase DVD, do not go for VCD. I repeat, do not buy VCD, or else, you’ll miss out some scenes and what happen at the end of the show.. you know.. as they show the ending theme song and the wordings.. you gotta watch the whole thing alright?

If you’re a movie freak, you’d notice the recent similar movie - “Land of the Dead” they played in cinema. They promote this movie as “now they are able to think..bla bla bla”. Frankly, Dawn of the Dead is 10 times better than this. Of course, Resident Evil series still my all time favourite hehe… Big budget production that based on PS game, can’t really compare the two you see? But trust me, you won’t regret wathcing the show =)

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory

Saturday, September 3rd, 2005

This movie is FUN!! A must watch show for chocolate lovers ^_^
Jonny Depp plays the role - Willy Wonka the chocolate factory owner very well! Don’t you just love him? He is such a great actor.

Besides that, Tim Burton did a marvellous job in creating the scenes of the factory. The chocolate river(!), candy trees(!!), mushmallow sheep(!!!), his new way of advertising chocolate(!!!!)…etc. I must salute to Roald Dahl (authur of the original book) and Tim Burton for their wild imagination. Thanks to them, I had a great time in the cinema.

Another fun part of the movie was the Oompa-Loompas (played by Deep Roy) working for Willy Wonka. They worship cocoa beans, work hard and love to sing! Very cute little men and funny lyrics. Also, the actor who played Dr. Wonka (Willy’s father) - Christopher Lee also played in LOTR trilogy as well as Star Wars Episode II and III. He’s pretty scarry to me. He has this face that suit him perfectly for roles like dark wizard, dark lord and strict dad lol~!! I wonder how he is like in real life…

Besides chocolates and funny stories, the movie carries an important message to parents. Nowdays many children take things for granted. They are hard to satisfy, keep wanting more. Blame who but their parents for spoil brats? Whereas Willy Wonka has a very strict dad. You cannot do this you cannot do that, which give rise to Willy’s weird character. He doesn’t like the idea of “parents” , he doesn’t like kids, he has no friends. Everyone is like an enemy to him. Willy Wonka was lonely until he met Charlie Bucket which taught him the meaning of family. Not just children and people like me, parents should watch this too.

By the way, not to forget, the GLASS LIFT(!!!!!) of the factory. Don’t you wish you have something like that too?
Imagine this, monday morning –> woke up late –> enter lift –> press button –> *DING!* next thing you know you’re at the door of your classroom. How cool is that?
Another scenario, you want to go to Australia –> *DING!* you’re standing next to a kangaroo.
You want to watch Charlie and The Chocolate Factory –> *DING!* you are in the cinema! Cool huh? hahahahhahahhaha
