Just finished my last paper on the 22nd of Nov, which was 2 weeks ago, summer sem has started last week. I know it’s a little too late to complain how I never have any holiday after my final.. how I screwed my Funds Management, and I should have taken this subject in later sem..blablabla. But, really, I’m craving for holidaysssss!! I need holiday to hang out with friends, I need holiday to club (gosh, I miss the dance floor so much!), I need holiday to rest, I need holiday to work for extra income!
Anyway, I’m taking Management Accounting 1 and Accounting System this short semester. After taking a few third year Finance subjects that drove me crazy over the past two sem, I’m back to second year subjects again. Friends have been telling me these are the easiest acc papers to score for distinction, but the fact that I never touched accounts for more than 1 year (after completion of first year) and was never good at management acc tells me this is gonna be a tough sem! I never really like accounting. Being a finance major, it seems to be the best combination for joint study, so I’m forced to take! Sigh…
The past 3 days had been a disaster for me. My mind went completely blank during lectures and tutorials. Ms. Grace Mui (Acc. System lecturer) kept emphasizing how important the subject is for acc. major, which I interpret as “what the hell am I doing here if I’m not acc major?!”. I have this assignment where I’m required to use MYOB software and Microsoft Access. As most of my friends know, I’m a computer idiot, and I never use any of these before. Do you know how much the MYOB textbook with the latest version of MYOB software cost? RM100, and we use it only for this assignment, other than that, it’s completely useless! Also, we’re required to get an original copy of the main textbook, there goes another RM60++ (Grace doesn’t allow students to carry pirated copies to class). Not forgetting MA1, another RM100 for textbook, and it’s completely black and white without color. So, I’m getting photocopies and pirated software. Yes, you’re right, I don’t give a damn bout intellectual property and copy right. Who cares bout these shits when it comes to money? Luckily, Shawn lends me his textbook for Acc System, and I’m allowed to do whatever I want with the book. “Make full use of the book, don’t waste your money”, he said. Shawn is such a nice guy, isn’t he? =) Anyway, it’s not good to draw on other people’s book, I might still get a photocopy. Afterall, I can always sit at the last row, regardless of what Grace said.
I finally get to see the assignment question yesterday, it’s really tedious and requires a lot of hardwork, fcuking stupid! On the other hand, I have only one assignment for MA1 and 70 multiple choice questions for final exam. The paper seems easy isn’t it? Come on, it’s only MCQ, how hard can it be? Wait till you see the questions in my study guide, you’ll know. I got freaked out during tutorial. They’re very long and required many steps to derive the answer. The lecturer used up two hours just to explain a few questions from the first 3 topics. Imagine, 70 MCQ to be completed within 3 hours in final! >_< I’m so gonna cry~~~
Yet, being a university student, can’t expect my subjects to be easy right? Or else, there’d b no challenge at all and I’d probably find it boring =p I’ve been really lazy ever since I started second year. My CGPA drops like hell, from average distinction to average credit. Gotta study harder this sem! Well, actually, I plan to work harder every sem, yet… you know lar… haha.. *blushes* Let’s hope it really works this sem =)
